The primary mission of the Good Samaritan Foundation is to enhance the quality of life for vulnerable and less privileged individuals. The organization aims to achieve this by providing assistance through various means, including economic empowerment, environmental education, agriculture, and promoting gender equality.

Economic empowerment is a key focus area for the Good Samaritan Foundation. The organization aims to uplift the socio-economic status of the target beneficiaries by supporting income-generating activities. This can involve providing financial resources, training, and mentorship to help individuals develop sustainable livelihoods and become self-reliant.

Environmental education is another important aspect of the organization's work. Good Samaritan Foundation recognizes the significance of environmental conservation and aims to raise awareness among the community. By educating individuals about sustainable practices and the importance of protecting the environment, the organization seeks to promote a greener and more sustainable future.

Agriculture is also a core area of focus for the Good Samaritan Foundation. The organization recognizes the crucial role that agriculture plays in the livelihoods of many vulnerable communities. Through initiatives such as training programs, access to resources, and agricultural extension services, the organization aims to improve agricultural practices and enhance food security for those in need.

Lastly, the Good Samaritan Foundation is committed to promoting gender equality. The organization recognizes that gender disparities often exacerbate the vulnerability of certain groups. By advocating for equal rights and opportunities for all genders, the foundation aims to empower women and promote inclusivity within the communities it serves.

Overall, the Good Samaritan Foundation is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of the vulnerable and less privileged. Through its multifaceted approach encompassing economic empowerment, environmental education, agriculture, and gender equality, the organization strives to create lasting change and improve livelihoods.

Our Journey

Our hand of Help to the Abuh Community

In April 2019 Good Samaritan Foundation donated free basic household needs to the people of Abuh village, Funding Subdivision which included pots, clothes, palm oil, Boxes of matches, clothes and bags of rice. These donations were made to the Abuh people whose houses were burnt down due to the Northwest and South West (NW/SW) crisis in November 2018. These materials were meant to help them to be able to feed their families and be clothed as all of them lost their clothes and dresses to the burnings of the crisis.

Abuh is one of the villages hardest hit by the crisis in Fundong Sub divisions in Boyo Division. Abuh has four (4) quarters which are:

  • Abuikui
  • Atuabuh
  • Isaiabuh and
  • Njinijua

Abuh village has a total population of more than seven thousand (7000) inhabitants. It is   bounded by Muteff to the North, Ngwah to the South, Laikom Palace to the West and to the East by the Ijim mountain forest.

In 2018 the Good Samaritan Foundation collected the statistics of the total number of houses that were burnt down rendering their occupants homeless. These people have become needy hence they are vulnerable. A total number of eighty-three (83) houses were destroyed through burning in the crisis as of now.

Joining the fight against COVID-19

  1. In June 2020 Good Samaritan Foundation carried out sensitization sessions in Abuh community on COVID-19. The dialect and Pidgin English were the main languages of communication about COVID-19 to the people. With the advent of this world’s health scourge – Corona Virus – COVID-19, Good Samaritan Foundation has donated free hand sanitizers to the following churches: Catholic Church Abuh, Full Gospel Church Abuh and the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC church) Abuh. GSF targeted the churches because these are some of the places where people often meet once a week for worship especially vulnerable groups like the old people, children and pregnant women. Their churches provided forums where raising awareness about COVID-19 and the distribution of the hand sanitizers was done. These donations were aimed at preventing COVID-19 since Corona virus is not yet present in Abuh village.
